Apple’s iPhone Duo will launch on October 23, with pre-orders opening on October 16. To help customers avoid missing out, Apple has rolled out a new feature called Get Ready, which lets users reserve their device before the official pre-order window begins. The tool is essentially a pre-order opportunity starting today (October 12), allowing eager buyers to lock in their preferences early.
The feature is now live on Apple’s website and the Apple Store app. Customers can select their desired model, choose between the Star White or Night Sky color options, and pick storage capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB. They can also select a carrier, arrange a trade-in for an existing phone and maybe add a few accessories to your purchase as well — you’ll probably want to protect your new $2,000 phone with a case. AppleCare+ is available directly from the purchase screen, and the tool saves payment and shipping details for a seamless transition when pre-orders go live on October 16.

Buying directly from Apple is typically the fastest method, particularly for those not tied to a carrier plan. The base 256GB model starts at $1,999, while the highest-end 2TB version costs $3,199. Trade-in credits of up to $885 are available, and Apple provides financing through its Upgrade Program, with monthly payments as low as $57.99. However, this program requires returning the device after two years or settling the remaining balance. Alternatively, customers can opt for a standard payment plan with up to 24 months of installments, making the 256GB model cost just $83.29 per month.
Carriers and retailers are already rolling out their own promotions. For instance, AT&T is offering up to $1,200 in trade-in credit, plus an additional $200 per line for online purchases. Best Buy, in partnership with AT&T, is also providing installment plans starting at $55.96 per month. Shoppers should compare these options to determine the best value before the launch, especially since the iPhone Duo is not an inexpensive device.
