Xiaomi has officially launched HyperOS 4 worldwide, with the POCO F8 Pro among the first devices to receive the firmware. This update arrives as version OS4.0.2.0.XPKMIXM, weighing approximately 8.4 GB.
The global deployment follows Xiaomi’s earlier beta testing phase and domestic release in China. Additionally, the company has shared a schedule detailing which devices will receive the update over the next few weeks, though not all Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO models will get it simultaneously.
Key Features of HyperOS 4
POCO F8 Pro users will experience a refreshed interface and multiple system enhancements, including a new aesthetic called Soft Light Glass. This design incorporates dynamic lighting effects, updated visual elements, and adjustments to the core system layout.
Beyond visual changes, Xiaomi has optimized the lock screen, widget customization, and home screen functionality. Performance improvements also address memory management and app execution, ensuring the device operates more fluidly—even after extended use. According to Xiaomi, the update reduces app launch delays and enhances scrolling responsiveness.
AI Enhancements and Limitations
The update introduces refinements to Xiaomi’s AI capabilities, including more accurate voice notes, advanced speech recognition, and tools that convert spoken commands into actionable tasks. Additional features assist with note organization and information retrieval.
However, not all AI tools demonstrated in Xiaomi’s promotional materials will be available to international users. Some functionalities depend on services tailored exclusively for the Chinese market, and the company has not confirmed full compatibility for the global POCO F8 Pro version.
While the POCO F8 Pro leads the charge, other devices in the initial rollout include the Xiaomi 17 series, POCO F8 Ultra, and various Redmi Note 15 models. Xiaomi intends to roll out the update in phases, with additional smartphones and tablets eligible from mid-November, followed by another batch in December. Release timing may vary based on the device, regional availability, and carrier partnerships.
How to Verify the Update
Given the update’s size, around 8.4 GB, users are advised to connect via a stable Wi-Fi network, ensure sufficient storage space, and maintain adequate battery levels before installation. The global deployment is active, though availability remains dependent on device compatibility and regional support. If the update is not yet visible, owners may need to wait for Xiaomi to push it to their specific software configuration.
